Countdown to Avalon – 7 Days to Go.

The Australian International Airshow is just around the corner, so in the lead up I’ll be showing you a few of my favourite photographs airshows of the past, and even a couple of what will turn up.

No airshow seem to be complete without a DC-3/C-47 Dakota or two in the air. The type first flew in 1935, with just over 16,000 built. IN the war it was mostly used by the Allied airforces, but example flew with many other countries including the Japanese, Russian and German airforces. Here two examples land after their display in 2011.

You can find more photographs from this airshow and many others here.
